The introduction of the Procurement Act, due to go live on Monday 24 February 2025, is set to have a wide-ranging impact on the governance, systems and processes used to procure supplies.

Designed to streamline and standardise procurement, it is hoped the act will make it easier for organisations to buy and procure services.

The act was originally due to go live on Monday 28 October 2024, but was postponed by the Labour Government to allow more time for a seamless transition.

The changes brought about by the act are likely to pose big questions for organisations and those that prepare for and fully understand the new legislation are more likely to take advantage of any benefits it brings.

Our webinar delved into the challenges and opportunities presented by the act. We spoke to Procurement Act specialist, Alison Walton, Partner and Head of Procurement – Commercial at Muckle LLP, to get to the bottom of some of the key questions it presents, including:

  • Market engagement - how to get the best out of suppliers

  • Advice on selecting key performance indicators (KPIs)

  • What does transparency mean for contracting authorities and suppliers

  • The journey from MEAT (Most Economically Advantageous Tender) to MAT (Most Advantageous Tender)
